NBN Co appoints Chief Financial Officer

NBN Co today announced the appointment of Philip Knox as the company’s next Chief Financial Officer. Mr Knox will start with NBN Co on Wednesday 6 February.

Mr Knox joins NBN Co with over thirty years of financial experience having most recently been Chief Financial Officer at APN Outdoor. He also held CFO roles at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Austar. From his time at Austar Mr Knox has extensive experience in delivering telecommunications services across regional and remote Australia.

Stephen Rue, Chief Executive Officer, said Mr Knox joins at the same time that nearly three in four Australians can now connect to the nbn access network:

Mr Knox said:

Mr Knox’s appointment followed an extensive global recruitment process undertaken by an executive search firm following Stephen Rue’s appointment as Chief Executive in August 2018.

Biography of Philip Knox

• Mr Knox was previously the Chief Financial Officer (2018) at APN Outdoor prior to its acquisition by JCDecaux. Prior to this role Mr Knox was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research from 2013-2017.
• From 2001-2012 Mr Knox was CFO at Austar United Communications and prior to that held senior financial management roles at SAP and Traveland International.
• He is a member of CPA Australia and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
